Gospel Artist, Yinka Ayefele

 

Today, popular Nigerian gospel artiste and owner of Fresh FM, Yinka Ayefele clocks 51.

Ayefele was born on this day in 1968 in Ekiti State, Nigeria where he attended Our Saviors Anglican Primary School in Ipoti-Ekiti and then proceeded to Ondo State College of Arts and Science.

The artist rose to fame in 1998 after the release of his first album, “Bitter experience” which he said was inspired by his accident in 1997.

Prior to the release of his first album, the star was a journalist and broadcaster at the Federal Radio Corporation of NigeriaIbadan and was known for his jingle works on radio.

Over the course of his musical career and media journey, the star has won about 200 hundred awards. Amongst these awards are Member of the Order of the Niger, awarded by the Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2011 and the Ekiti cultural ambassador award.

Ayefele is recognized as an individual that is determined at heart to rise above his circumstance and achieve what his mind is set to do.

Between a period of 21 years, he has produced 23 albums and successfully runs a functional radio station in Ibadan, Oyo state, with its branch in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Ayefele is celebrated for upholding the word of God in proverbs 3:3-6 that says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

The icon is celebrated today for his great musical brand in the gospel industry and his contributive works to the Nigerian media.
