Oyo State Prioritizes Security and Road Safety
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the welfare and safety of the State’s residents, prioritizing a robust road network and security measures.
During the Stakeholders Engagement on Safety on Roads and Security, organized by the State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development, Governor Makinde emphasizes the importance of collaboration between relevant ministries, agencies, and stakeholders to maintain a secure and hygienic environment across the State.
The event, themed “Security at Home, Safety on our Roads,” featured discussions on:
Strategic Approach to Crowd and Participants’ Welfare at Public Events, Addressing Security Challenges in the State, Holistic Approach to Addressing the Menace of Drug Abuse, and Inclusive Approach to Traffic Management and Safety on Roads.
Governor Makinde commends the State’s security agencies for their efforts in reducing crime rates, particularly during the Yuletide season. He also tasks the Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development to collaborate with relevant ministries and agencies to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment across the State.
Chairman of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, Major Adekoya Adesagba (Rtd.), stresses that addressing traffic regulations and violations requires collective efforts from all stakeholders.
The Director-General of the Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas, explains that the Stakeholders’ Engagement aimed to educate the public and stakeholders about the agency’s role in preserving the State’s values.
