Lalong Urges Prayers For Peace As He Extols Bishop Kaigama

Christians all over have been urged to continually pray for peace in the land as government deepens dialogue towards peaceful coexistence.

 

Governor Simon Lalong stated this at the Remembrance and Thanksgiving service of the Kaigama family held at Kona, Taraba State. Gov. Lalong said peace remains the cardinal objectives of the rescue administration in its quest to better the lives of the people. Speaking at the church service, the chief host and the Archbishop of Jos Diocese, Ignatius Kaigama, said the service was organized by the Kaigama family to remember their father who died 25 years ago, and offer thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness.

 

Bishop Kaigama commends the Lalong administration for distinguishing itself in human welfare through the prompt payments of salaries, gratuities and pensions. He reinstated his commitment to the peace process being championed by the Lalong administration, urging support from all citizens.

 

Speaking at the event, Gov. Dairus Ishaku of Taraba State commended Governor Lalong for promoting friendship and brotherhood between Plateau and Taraba states. Gov. Lalong had earlier attended the wedding ceremony of the son of Gov. Dairus Ishaku held at Jalingo, the Taraba state capital.

 

Governor Simon Lalong, who has returned to Jos, was accompanied by members of the State executive council and the Commissioners of Works and that of Information and Communication, Pam Botmang and Yakubu Dati, respectively.

 

Others are Engr. Sam Gyang Audu, Amb Danladi Wuyep, Bar Umar Shittein, Rev Father Polycarp and Rev James Langs from of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Yakubu Dati Commissioner of Information and Communication.
