Group Indicts IPOB over Prophet Nwoko’s Murder

The Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has fingered the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for the alleged murder of Prophet Anthony Nwoko, a well-known critic of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The BNYL, making the indictment in a recent statement issued to Daily Post, recalled that Prophet Nwoko had earlier raised an alarm over threats to his life by the group but was eventually killed by unknown armed bandits in Ugbene 2, Nike area of Enugu State.

Recall that Kanu had ordered an election boycott in the South-East before later calling off the exercise but Prophet Nwoko, reacting to the IPOB leader going back on the directive, accused him of allegedly collecting money from the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Atiku Abubakar.

The BNYL leader, Princewill Richard stated that they “carried out an investigation on the killing where it discovered that the killers are not outsiders but within the Biafra community.”

Princewill alleged that the investigation, “shows that the Enugu State IPOB Chief security was directly involved in the killing as he engineered it,” adding that the group was currently “haunting the said Chief security and his gangs.”

Also accusing Kanu and his deputy, Uche Mefor of “arrogance and disrespect to the Biafran agitators,” the BNYL leader lamented that their followers were “sheepishly” following their behaviour.

Though admitting that it is not clear whether the IPOB Leader ordered the killing of the prophet, but that will be known when the killers are caught and made to confess.

BNYL claimed that, “similar incidence took place in Port Harcourt city, Rivers State where one of their colleagues named Cosmos George Oto’obong and an Abia State lady were invited to a peace meeting by IPOB which they went and were rounded up, tortured and left half dead in the bush.”

He queried why the IPOB ‘lions’ could do nothing to stop the Fulani herdsmen killing in the South-East but could turn their barrels on their people.

Richard warned of possible rival activities between his group and IPOB if death threats to individuals with different opinions and the assassinations continue.
