Fika Emirate Council Organizes Football Competition
The Fika Emirate council, under the leadership of Alhaji Dr Muhammad Abali, who is also the Chairman of Yobe State Council of Chiefs, commences the third edition of the football competition at Dabo Aliyu stadium, Potiskum.
The first edition of the competition started in the year 2011 of which many football clubs participated within the four Local Governments of Fune, Potiskum, Fika and Nangere. Later in the year 2017, another edition was organised by the Emirate council.
On Friday 31st of January 2025, the third edition of the football competition commenced at Dabo Aliyu stadium, Potiskum. In this year’s edition of the competition, Total Pillars FC Potiskum and Parma FC Potiskum opened the competition.
During the first half of the match, no scores were recorded from both sides and 19 minutes after the second half of the game resumed, one player, Abdulzabi, of Parma FC, scored the first goal, ending the game with 1-0.
The competition consisted of 64 clubs from four Local Government Areas, namely: Fune, Potiskum, Fika and Nangere.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was the presentation of medals to honour the following notable persons:
1. Alhaji Garba Mohammed
2. FIFA Lamido
3. Aliyu Abba Bulama (AFCON)
4. Sadik Rabiu Alkali
5. Alhaji Ba’aba Abba (Aljino of Fika)
