Breaking News: JAMB Suspends Law Admissions in 8 Universities

In a significant development, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended Law admissions in eight universities for the 2025/2026 academic session. This decision follows the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) programme by the Council of Legal Education (CLE) due to regulatory procedure violations.
The affected institutions include:
-Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin
-Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State
-Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State
-Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State
-Taraba State University, Jalingo
-Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State
-Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State
-Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State

According to Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, the suspension means that JAMB will not approve any Law programme admissions for the affected universities during the 2025/2026 academic session.
A source from one of the affected universities reveals that the suspension was due to admission quota violations that occurred five years ago. The Nigerian Police Academy’s Law programme suspension will last for two academic sessions, specifically the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions.
This development may impact prospective Law students seeking admission to these universities. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
